Phpstorm VirtualboxHola,
I am running VirtualBox 4.3.28 r100309 on a Windows 8.1 computer. I can run and use a base CentOS 7 machine downloaded from virtualboxes without any problems.

So I just spent the day setting up PHPStorm for the purpose of component development. Although it was a bit of work, now that I've finished the setup my life is going to be SOOOO much easier. I don't have a tutorial to point you to, but here is the step-by-step for setting up PHPStorm with Git, VirtualBox, Vagrant, and Joomlatools/box. Vagrant and PHPStorm We published a Vagrant Setup that provides you with a basic Ubuntu 16.04 that contains everything that you needed to develop with Shopware. It contains the Apache2 Web Server, MySQL Server as well as all required tools, like ant, curl and git. Just wait until the download finishes and we will start with the configuration of the virtual box. Creating a Virtual Box Image. First of all, you need to start your newly installed Virtual Box. Just create a new virtual machine by using the „new“ button on the right side of the new menu or use the top menu (Machine. PHPStormでVirtualBoxのサーバーと連携してリモートデバッグ (Xdebug)の設定方法 PHP PhpStorm VirtualBox xdebug More than 1 year has passed since last update. Configuring a SFTP connection to your vagrant virtual machine allows PhpStorm to do thing like access the remote PHP interpreter and deploy file changes automatically. This step should be done first as this connection will be used in many of the later steps. Open Tools Deployment. Configuration. Press the + and add a server of type SFTP.

However, when I download a Rackspace image of my cloud server (using this method: rocinantesoftware blogspot blog post 'Download a RackSpace Server Image' (forum won't lee me post links!)), with 1 GB of ram, using the VHD as my hard disk, I can see the server loading and getting up to 100% in a VirtualBox window, but then I'm left with an unresponsive, non-blinking cursor, even though Virtualbox says it 'running'. Log file is enclosed.
I don't see anything from the log that clearly indicates what the problem is, nor can I find from reading about Virtualbox, VHDs, etc. on the internet what the problem might be.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW, the purpose of this exercise is to be able to do development of my PHP application on Windows using the exact software that is used on the server. I've seen that this should be possible with PHPStorm, Virtualbox and Vagrant, and am trying to load this in Virtual box due to this stack overflow article ('Rackspace/Vagrant: Working with a rackspace vagrant box locally').
Thanks!
